Kati Texas - Dear 11 year old Kati...
Dear 11 year old Kati Texas,
I am writing you from the future to tell you something amazing: You, my younger self, you have a super power … several actually.
You may have noticed strange things happening already. It is very important that you understand your powers before the situation gets out of control.
First, look in the mirror: in your mouth, there are sharp blades that you can fling at people with incredible precision. These are very dangerous. Your super sight lets you notice things; especially things that others try to hide. In your gut there is a magnetically charged lump of iron that acts like a compass. No matter what’s going on, it always points to what’s good and right. In addition to all of this, you (by which I mean the you that is really YOU) exist just slightly outside of space and time.
I can not tell you what to do with these powers, or how to develop them. I want to tell you to always use them for good, but you must find your own way. I can say this: seek out friends and mentors that you can trust, but more importantly that you respect. When things get hectic, two heads are always better than one. If it gets confusing, there’s always your gut compass. If it’s pointed towards good, and you’re facing the other way, it can get very uncomfortable.
The next few years are going to get pretty crazy. You will end up in situations where you must defend yourself, and I know that you will. I wish I could tell you who the dangerous people are, but most of them are unavoidable anyway. Some of them will be people you know, so don’t let anything stop you from using your super sight to see them for who they really are.
Other times you will find yourself in beautiful places with beautiful people. Enjoy them. Protect them. Those were the times that I used my powers, and don’t regret it. Even if it got me in trouble … but I’m saying to much. You’ll know what to do when the time comes.
It won’t always be easy or fun, but there is such a giant, awesome, magical adventure right in front of you. I would tell you not to be afraid, but I know you won’t be. Good luck.
Love,
Kati Texas
ps Lots of times WILL be easy and fun.
